You may notice that starting tomorrow at approximately 8:00am, some water will be discharged from the various water tanks around town. This work is necessary to ensure that our customers continue to have the best quality water delivered to their home or business.
The Public Works staff is constantly working to balance the highest quality of our drinking water with the storage requirements for our peak customer demands, while still making sure there is also enough supply on-hand for emergency situations. In addition, the impacts from the lower overall use from our customers during the current drought and the warmer weather have placed additional demands on our system. These additional demands require us to manually circulate and flush our storage tanks, both of which would typically occur on their own under normal operating conditions and customer demands.
The Public Works Department will continue to monitor and maintain the City's water distribution system and update its customers as necessary. If you have any questions about the work being performed, please contact the Public Works Department at (415) 508-2130. Thank you for your patience and understanding as this necessary work is being performed.
