Starting Thursday, March 20, 2014, Administrative Services Director/ Deputy City Manager Stuart Schillinger will get to experience what it’s like to be a City Manager, as he becomes the Interim City Manager for the City of Half Moon Bay. Stuart’s new assignment is expected to last for approximately the next four months as Half Moon Bay conducts a comprehensive search for a permanent replacement. Their former City Manager needed to step down from her position due to family reasons, but not before recommending her colleague, Stuart, for the role. And Stuart was no stranger to the Half Moon Bay City Council. Back in 2010-11, Stuart helped the city with their budget, which they were able to adopt by fiscal year-end. There is no doubt to the high level of professionalism, experience, and leadership Stuart possesses and will bring to Half Moon Bay.
However, it will not be as if Stuart won’t be seen in and around Brisbane City Hall. He will continue to assist the City during his interim assignment by delivering the proposed 2014/15 proposed budget, working on a couple of special Finance assignments, and overseeing the Open Space & Ecology program. As far as logistics goes, Stuart will be in Half Moon Bay four days out of the week, and in Brisbane City Hall on Wednesdays for regular business hours, 8:00am – 8:00pm. So, this isn’t goodbye, but best of luck in your new assignment, and we’ll see you soon!
