Each year, PG&E assesses which trees have grown enough in the past year to impact their high-voltage transmission lines. Once determined, they apply for a permit with the City's Public Works Department since the trees are in the public right-of-way. The City granted PG&E's permit, and therefore PG&E will be trimming and removing trees no greater than 10" in diameter in various locations along Bayshore and one along Crocker Park Recreational Trail this week. Two of the trees are 10" diamater Coast Live Oaks on Bayshore near San Bruno Ave. Part of the City's mitigation efforts requires contractors to replant a tree per City standards should they remove any tree 30 inches in circumference (9.5 ft. in diameter), or greater. For any questions, please contact the City's Public Works Department at (415) 508-2130.
