On Saturday, April 30, National PrepareAthon! Day will inspire individuals, organizations, and communities to prepare for emergencies. It’s an entire day dedicated to action and doing preparedness activities.
America’s PrepareAthon! is promoting ten ways to participate in preparedness and is asking everyone to take action, be counted, and spread the word. Examples include:
Pets are family members too. As you prepare your family for emergencies, don’t forget about your pets. Click here to read about what items you should include in your pet emergency supply kit, as well as how to care for your pets during and after a disaster.
Thank you for practicing preparedness with your family and loved ones this Saturday! For any questions, please contact the City's Office of Emergency Services at (415) 508-2130.
This summer tradition is made possible due to the generous tax deductible donations made by Brisbane businesses as well as local families who have come to eagerly anticipate the concerts each year because of the value they add to the community.
Would you consider being a sponsor for the 2016 Concert Series? Please contact Steve Beaty at (415) 508-2144 for more information. Here is the 2016 Sponsorship Form.
The Brisbane Parks & Recreation Department is actively seeking dedicated, enthusiastic, and motivated teens to join the Youth Advisory Committee (YAC). Committee members have the important duty of advising the Parks & Recreation Commission and Recreation staff on the programs and issues that concern the youth and teens in the Brisbane community. This is a great way to get involved in your community and make a difference. YAC members will also participate in the annual YAC Attack event through the California Parks & Recreation Society. YAC Attack is a one day educational leadership conference for YAC members from all over Northern California. Applications will be reviewed as they are received by YAC Advisor, Ricardo Monroy, and Recreation Supervisor, Steve Beaty. Once a committee is established, meetings will be scheduled on Wednesday evenings once per month. (Be advised that the Committee generally does not meet in the Summer and YAC meetings are conducted only August-May.) For additional information, please contact Ricardo directly at firstname.lastname@example.org or 415-508-2143 – Application available online here. Apply today!
The Open Space and Ecology Committee is endeavoring to provide to the community one climate fact each week. These facts are to call community awareness to global warming impacts as a measure of the Climate Action Plan of the City of Brisbane.
