UPDATE 6/21, 12:00pm: Tickets are now SOLD OUT.
Did you know that Brisbane was featured in the 1968 movie, "Bullitt", starring Steve McQueen? And that there was an iconic chase sequence through San Francisco, which ended in Brisbane, with the cars racing down Guadalupe Canyon Parkway? There was even a fiery crash into a gas station that was built just for this scene (and needed to be perfectly done in just one take!). A 45th Anniversary event of the movie will be held in Brisbane on Friday, June 21st at Mission Blue Center from 4:00pm - 9:00pm. The movie will NOT be shown at the event, but two documentary screenings, entitled, "Steve McQueen an American Rebel" and "Commitment to Reality" will be. The cost for the event is $35 ($25 for Brisbane residents), with proceeds benefitting the Brisbane Skatepark Project. Come and enjoy a BBQ dinner, beer & beverages, and a live band playing hits from none other than the 60s! Steve McQueen's son, Chad McQueen, will be speaking. To purchase your ticket(s), stop by the Brisbane Parks & Recreation Dept., located on the 2nd Fl. of City Hall - 50 Park Place, Brisbane. For more information, please contact Recreation Supervisor Steve Beaty at (415) 508-2144 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
