UPDATE 5/10/13: Bike to Work Day 2013 was another roaring success, thanks to hardworking volunteers: Susan and Robert Maynard Sullivan, Open Space & Ecology Committee Member Barbara Ebel, Dee Sano, Nancy Lacasama, Pete Anastole, and Alison Wilson. At the Tunnel Ave/Lagoon Energizer Station, they helped 384 cyclists to light refreshments and BTWD swag, along with a coupon to be redeemed at the farmers' market later that day, and cheered on 402 ride-bys. The Bayshore/Old County Energizer Station had 30 stops and 78 ride-bys. A highlight of the morning was a surprise visit from SF Bull's mascot, Rawhide! On Thursday, May 9th, Bayshore and Tunnel Ave/Lagoon will be filled with cyclists participating in Bike to Work Day. Last year, the Energizer Station at Bayshore and Old County had 50 ride-bys and 58 stops, and the Energizer Station at Lagoon and Tunnel had 260 ride-bys and 307 stops! Bicyclists who stop by these stations can receive a free re-usable Bike to Work Day bag full of bike related materials, and fuel up for the rest of their ride. This year, Moola Dollars for the Brisbane Farmers' Market (taking place later that day) will also be handed out. Thank you to Brisbane resident Susan Maynard Sullivan for spearheading the volunteer effort that's necessary to make Bike to Work Day run as smoothly as it does.
