New LED Site Lighting

Printer-friendly version

Recently, the City has been taking advantage of rebates through San Mateo County Energy Watch to upgrade its facilities' site lighting to energy-saving, LED bulbs.  You may have noticed that this was done at the Fire Station and Mission Blue Center, and now the same has been done at the Community Pool.  Programming for the lights at the Pool have also been adjusted, so that only a few lights stay on at night for security reasons.  The Community Park site lighting (including the decorative lamps and Gazebo bollards) will be upgraded to LEDs in the coming weeks.   See if you can spot the difference!

Free Energy Code Training

Printer-friendly version

Join the City of Daly City, the City of Brisbane and the County of San Mateo for a workshop titled: Improving Energy Code Compliance of Nonresidential Envelopes.  The instructor will be Russ King, M.E.  This workshop aims to give you specific tools and strategies for enhancing energy code compliance of fenestration (design, construction, or presence of windows and doors in a building) performance and site-built fenestration.

When: Friday, August 28th from 12:00-4:00pm

Where: Daly City Building Department, Training Room, 333 90th Street, Daly City, 94015

Who: All local officials, city building and planning staff, as well as private sector building professionals are invited.

This training is provided through the Bay Area Regional Energy Network’s (BayREN) Codes and Standards program. This program is a locally driven effort of local governments to reduce energy use in buildings through improved design, construction and code compliance. The program is administered jointly by each of the nine Bay Area counties and the Association of Bay Area Governments (ABAG). Funding for the program is provided through the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC).  Click here for the training flyer.

Skatepark Fundraising

Printer-friendly version

A total of $7,514.25 has been raised by the Community through t-shirt sales, the Downtown Brisbane Car Show (which is back for a 3rd consecutive year on July 11, 2015), and other private donations.  At their meeting on May 7, 2015, the City Council stated their support for the Community to raise a total of $36,000 to cover the extra features not included in the Skatepark’s Approved Concept Plan, such as a water fountain and its connection to the water main, landscaping and seating, more aesthetic fencing, and additional lighting.  Taking into account the already-raised $7,514.25, the Mothers of Brisbane, who are spearheading the fundraising efforts, are estimating that the Community can raise another $12,500 through brick sales to arrive at $20,000 in cash donations.  The remaining $16,000 they’re estimating will be met through in-kind donations such as asking for volunteers to assist with demolition of the current Skatepark, grading, drainage, and getting the water fountain installed.  So please reserve your brick by August 1, 2015 (final day forms & payment will be accepted is Monday, August 3rd), which will be showcased at the Skatepark within the sidewalk just outside the park’s entrance.  Thank you for your continued support of the Skatepark, which is scheduled to break ground this Fall!

Commit to a Brick Donor Form.  Please bring to City Hall (Finance Dept.) with a check made out to the City of Brisbane.

In addition, look out for these coin/dollar collection jugs around town!  There are forms to "Commit to a Brick" there but you would need to mail or drop off at City Hall.

This one is located in our amazing Brisbane Hardware Shop!  Every little bit counts!

2014 Water Quality Report

Printer-friendly version

A few months ago you may have noticed a 1/3 sheet of paper included with your water/sewer bill announcing the release of the 2014 Consumer Confidence Report/Water Quality Report.  The purpose of this annual report is to raise customers' awareness of where their drinking water comes from, the quality of their drinking water, and the importance of protecting drinking water resources.  If you would like a paper copy of the 2014 Water Quality Report mailed to your residence or would like to speak with someone about the report, please call the Public Works Dept. at (415) 508-2130.  Hard copies of the report are also available to pick up at City Hall.
