Ord. 617 RE: Cannabis Delivery-Only Retail

Printer-friendly version

At last night's City Council Meeting, the City Council voted 4-1 to introduce Ord. 617 as amended to allow cannabis-related businesses to engage in delivery-only services; walk-up retail establishments will not be allowed in Brisbane.  The Council directed staff to also include in the amendment that these delivery-only cannabis businesses will be permitted by a conditional use permit, so the City can understand how the business works before a permit is issued.  The second reading of the ordinance will take place on at Council's September 7th meeting, with the ordinance fully taking effect in October (30 days afterwards).

4th of July

Printer-friendly version

July and the Independence Day holiday are upon us - a time of fun, fireworks, and festivals. We hope you have a wonderful Independence Day on Tuesday!  In order to keep you, your family, pets, and neighbors safe, please consider the following tips as you put the finishing touches on your celebration:

Fireworks Safety: Per BMC, Section 15.44.090 - Fireworks are Prohibited in Brisbane.

Pet Safety: More pets get lost on July 4th than any other day of the year. Exercise your furry friends before the festivities and keep them inside as much as possible. If you need to take them out, ensure they have a tag with your contact information.  Lastly, common Fourth of July items such as alcoholic beverages, citronella candles, and glow sticks can be toxic to pets and should be stowed out of their reach.

Grilling Safety: Keep the grill out in the open and far away from anything that could catch fire: the house, deck, tree branches. Be sure to use long-handled tools especially made for grilling to keep the chef safe. Make sure children and pets stay far away from the grill, and always supervise the grill when in use.

Please note:  The Brisbane Community Pool will observe modified hours on Tuesday, July 4th.  The hours for lap swim and recreational swim are noted below.  Come and celebrate the 4th of July at the pool with us!

Lastly, please note: City Hall will be closed for Independence Day, with offices re-opening on July 5th for regular Wednesday business hours of 8am - 8pm.  Have a safe and celebratory 4th!
