New Baylands Hearing Date of 6-7-17

Printer-friendly version

The Brisbane City Council’s meeting schedule has changed and the Council has newly scheduled the Baylands Public Hearing of June 7, 2017 to allow for the applicant and community groups to make presentations regarding the Baylands before the City Council considers making its recommendation.  The hearing will now be held on Wednesday, June 7, 2017 from 6:00pm-10:30pm in the Community Meeting Room at Brisbane City Hall, 50 Park Place, Brisbane.

The request deadline for prospective presenters has also been extended.  All parties interested in making a formal presentation before the City Council should contact Ingrid Padilla, City Clerk, by 5:00pm on Wednesday, May 31, 2017.  The City requests that interested presenters provide an estimate of how long their presentation will be.  Depending on the number of presenters, presentation length may need to be modified to accommodate all interested parties.  Ingrid Padilla can be reached at ipadilla@ci.brisbane.ca.us or (415) 508-2113.

Firth Canyon Restoration

Printer-friendly version

The City's land restoration contractor, Shelterbelt, will be removing invasives from Firth Canyon, beginning Monday May 1st - 19th.  There will be a crew and equipment in the area during that time while their work is being completed.  They will be removing invasive plant species such as broom, ivy, and cherry plum brush, as well as installing erosion control.  We do not foresee Shelterbelt's work causing any disruptions, but should you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to contact the Public Works Dept. at (415) 508-2130.

Appointments in City Manager's Office

Earlier this week, City Manager Clay Holstine announced two appointments he had made in his office.

Ingrid Padilla (pictured left) has been appointed as City Clerk, who, in large part connects the City Council, Commissions, Committees, and city staff with the Brisbane citizens they serve.  Ingrid will also administer democratic processes such as elections, access to city records, and all legislative actions ensuring transparency to the public.  She acts as a compliance officer for federal, state, and local statutes including the Political Reform Act, the Brown Act, and the Public Records Act and will arrange for ceremonial and official functions.

Angel Ibarra (pictured below) has been appointed as Administrative Management Analyst.  You may recognize her from the Planning Department where she assisted with plan checks and interfaced with many community members in issuing building permits and answering building code inquiries, in addition to providing staff support to the Planning Commission.  She will be working with Clay on special projects, backing Ingrid up on City Clerk duties, and another friendly face to greet you in the City Manager's Office.

Both Ingrid and Angel bring broad experiences and enthusiasm to their new assignments and we know they will serve the citizens of Brisbane well!
