SamTrans Service Plan

Printer-friendly version

UPDATE 3/13/2013: Staff has reviewed the Draft SamTrans Service Plan and are pleased to announce that SamTrans will continue 292 service into San Francisco, and keep to the current schedule (there is just a minor route adjustment in San Mateo, moving the route from B Street to Delaware Street).  There also does not appear to be any recommendations affecting the existing route 121 servicing the school trippers in this final draft.  Please still attend the 3/20 public workshop in Brisbane, and express your gratitude for continued service of the 292!

SSP Next Steps - The draft final recommendations for the SamTrans Service Plan are in process and will take all comments received into consideration. The recommendations are expected to be released in March 2013 with a draft final SSP. Once released, SamTrans will hold public meetings to receive comment. These will be followed by a public hearing at a SamTrans Board of Directors meeting in April, with adoption of the plan at a subsequent Board meeting. Dates, times and locations for the public meetings are posted below. The plan will help identify future key transit investments and direct the delivery of long-term, financially sustainable bus service.

A public workshop is a public event for the SSP intended to reach out to the broader community, not just the specific city the workshop is located in.

$300,000 FEMA Grant

Printer-friendly version

The City was recently notified that the North County Fire Authority, of which Brisbane is a part of, will receive approximately $300,000 in FEMA Assistance to Firefighter Grant Funds to replace all apparatus exhaust systems within all NCFA Fire Stations, as well as purchasing rescue air bags for lifting heavy weights needed as a result vehicle accidents, structural collapses, etc.

We currently are in need of major repairs and or replacement of the exhaust systems in all our fire stations, as well our rescue air bags, which are coming to the end of their useful life expectancies, so the award is a relief to our general fund, which would have had to bear the expense.

Street Sweeping

Printer-friendly version

Starting March 11th, you may notice the City of South San Francisco's street sweeper covering the routes formerly maintained by Contract Sweeping Services.  Brisbane has contracted with SSF based upon the shared services model that has proven successful with other services currently utilizing this model, such as traffic signal maintenance.  Not only does Brisbane receive a more distinct level of service, but SSF will be able to provide shorter response times when needed, which ultimately results in reduced costs.

SSF will be keeping the same schedule for street sweeping as was previously done - Commercial is done the 2nd and 4th Wedneday of each month (which includes Visitacion, Old County, and San Bruno), and Residential (Northeast Ridge) will remain the second Monday of every month.  If you have any questions about the city's street sweeping services, please contact Karen Kinser in the Public Works Dept. at (415) 508-2130.
