Recruiting Home Providers

Printer-friendly version

Do you know anyone looking for a housemate or renter, or trying to rent out a room in their home? HIP Housing’s Home Sharing program can help make that a safe, comfortable process.  HIP Housing has given free, long-term support to those who need it most in San Mateo County for 42 years.  This is especially important now, as our county has become one of the most expensive areas to live in within the United States.  The need for extra income is a common one, and renting out a room in your home is a great way to reduce costs and stimulate your community.  Call 650-348-6660 for information or visit www.hiphousing.org or www.facebook.com/hiphousing.

The City of Brisbane is currently updating its Housing Element for 2015-2022.  The Housing Element is one of the seven State-mandated elements of the City's General Plan.  The Housing Element, as the City's framework for developing and preserving housing, addresses various issues, including affordability, supply, accessibility, maintenance and rehabilitation.  The process for updating the Housing Element also provides a vehicle for establishing and updating housing and land-use strategies reflective of changing needs, resources, and conditions.  The Planning Commission is currently holding study sessions on updating the Housing Element chapter by chapter, and the public is encouraged to attend.  Below is the tentative workshop schedule, culminating in a Public Hearing in mid-June:

4/10:  Chapter I “Preparation of the 2015-2022 Housing Element” & Appendices A, B & C
4/24:  Chapter III “Land Inventory and Identification of Adequate Sites for Regional Housing Needs” & Appendices E & F
5/8:    Chapter VI “Housing Goals, Quantifiable Objectives, Policies and Programs” & Appendices D & G
5/22:  Continuation of Chapter VI “Housing Goals, Quantifiable Objectives, Policies and Programs” & Appendices D & G
