Use and Privacy Policy
THIS POLICY SETS FORTH RULES GOVERNING THE USE OF THE
CITY'S WEBSITE. PLEASE READ CAREFULLY. USE OF THE WEBSITE CONSTITUTES
AGREEMENT WITH THESE RULES.

This website may only be used in accordance with the rules and
subject to the limitations contained herein. The website must not
be used to solicit customers or sell products or services. All
users must use appropriate names and language on the website; false

The City’s Web site and Web servers are maintained
for the exclusive use of the City in communicating matters of general
public interest via the Internet. The City does not warrant or
make any representations or endorsements as to the accuracy, quality,
content, or completeness of the information, text, images, graphics,
hyperlinks, and other items contained on its Web servers. Web content
is compiled from a variety of sources and is subject to change
without notice as a result of updates and corrections.
Brisbane’s Web site and all materials contained therein
are distributed and transmitted "as is" without warranties
of any kind, either express or implied, including without limitation,
warranties of title or implied warranties of fitness for particular
purpose, or of non-infringement. The City is neither responsible
nor liable for any viruses or contaminations of a Web visitor's
hardware, software, peripherals, or properties, or for any delays,
inaccuracies, errors, or omissions resulting from use of or with
respect to the material contained on its Web servers, including
without limitation, any material posted on or linked to/from Brisbane's
Web site. The City is not responsible for any special indirect,
incidental, or consequential damages that may arise from the use
of, or the inability to use, the site and/or the materials contained
on the site whether the materials contained on the site are provided
by the City of Brisbane or a third party.
Public Comment/Legal Notice
Communications made via electronic mail (e-mail), including mail to links and
messaging systems, shall in no way be deemed to constitute public comment
or legal notice to the City of Brisbane or any of its agencies, officers,
employees, agents, or representatives, with respect to any existing or potential
claim or cause of action regarding the City or any of its agencies, officers,
employees, agents, or representatives, where notice to the City is required
by any federal, state or local laws, rules, or regulations, except as expressly
provided for in such laws, rules or regulations.

Hyperlinks on our Web site may lead to resources located on other servers.
The presence of these hyperlinks should not be construed as an endorsement
of these sites or their content, or reflect the opinions, standards or policies
of the City. The City of Brisbane is not responsible for the content of any
such external Web site, and under no circumstances will the City be liable
to any party who may choose to use or rely on a listed entity, its products

To the extent permitted by the Public Records Act and otherwise legally permissible,
commercial use of Brisbane Web site materials, content, and information is
explicitly prohibited without the written permission of the City. All branding
and trademarks mentioned herein are the property of their respective owners.
The City of Brisbane retains copyright on all text, graphic images,
and other content, unless otherwise noted. No person or entity
may do any of the following without written permission from the
City of Brisbane Web Manager: (a) modify and/or re-use text, images,
or other Web content from a City Web server, (b) distribute the
City's Web content, or (c) "mirror" the City's information
on a non-City server.
Website Does Not Create Public Forum
The intent of this policy is, in part, to communicate and ensure that the Brisbane
Web site is not and does not become a public forum or limited public forum;
rather, it is maintained for the exclusive use of the City of Brisbane in
communicating matters of general public interest to the residents of Brisbane
and other members of the public.

As part of demonstrating the City of Brisbane's commitment to individual privacy,
the City publishes this policy governing any personal, citizen, and business
information supplied to the City via its Web page. The City's goal in collecting
personal information through its Web site is to provide visitors with the
most effective, personalized service possible. The City will protect online
information with the same diligence that it protects information obtained
through all other means.
Other Web Sites
The City's Web page contains links to other sites. The City of Brisbane is
not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of sites other than
Brisbane’s.
Direct Mail
The City of Brisbane may use the personal data provided online to distribute
information about City services and upcoming civic activities. The City will
neither sell nor provide personal information to any third party for any
other direct mail activities, unless under court order.

ENTIRE AGREEMENT
These rules represent the entire agreement between users and the
City and may not be modified except by express written agreement.
This agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance
with the laws of the State of California. If any provision of these
rules shall be declared by a court to be invalid, illegal or unenforceable,
such provision shall be deemed severable, and the other provisions
shall remain in full force and effect.
