Baby Bounce & Rhyme Time

The Brisbane Library is pleased to announce its newest program, "Baby Bounce and Rhyme Time". Combining singing, dancing, reading, and playing, "Baby Bounce and Rhyme Time" is a great way to connect with your young child. This program is specifically for babies ages 0-18 months (although older children are welcome too!). Using babies’ unique ways of learning about the world, you and your child will explore familiar nursery rhymes as well as some new ones. There will also be a variety of board books available so that parents or caretakers can read to their baby.

Studies have shown that many of the reading problems children struggle with could have been avoided or corrected during their early childhood. As such, the Brisbane Library created "Baby Bounce and Rhyme Time" to introduce small children to the joy of word play, reading, and songs. Songs and chants are a particularly great way to show babies what fun language can be. Studies have shown that children who are comfortable with manipulating language through rhymes become better readers. By being a part of "Baby Bounce and Rhyme Time", you will not only have a fantastic time with your child but you will be helping them get a great start in life!
