Renewable Energy

Reflecting the City's commitment to making the Baylands a sustainable development, by integrating meaningful on-site renewable energy generation, the City has prepared a Preliminary Renewable Energy Feasibility Study for the Baylands.  This technical document is intended as a starting point for discussions with PG&E, the community, the property owner, renewable energy developers and others regarding what form and level of renewable energy generation on the Baylands is possible.  This document was submitted to PG&E in October 2010 for their review and comment.  Once feedback is received from PG&E the matter will be scheduled for further discussion with the community and City Council to discuss potential next steps.

On Monday, June 17, 2013, the City Council received a very thorough presentation from Zi Zi Searles, Remedial Project Manager for the EPA's Re-Powering Rapid Response Team, which supports the RE-Powering America's Land Initiative - the program through which Brisbane was chosen as 1 of 26 sites to receive technical assistance in the form of a renewable energy study for the Brisbane Baylands.  If you missed it, you can watch back just the portion focused on the presentation (the full meeting playback can be viewed here).
