EIR Alternatives

The identification and evaluation of alternatives is an important component of the EIR process. In addition to the applicant’s specific plan and a related variant, the community went through an extensive community-based process to identify a community-based plan.  A variant to the community-based plan has also been identified. Both the developer’s project and community based plan (and related variants) will be studied in the EIR at the same level of detail. A renewable energy-based alternative has also been identified for study in the forthcoming EIR. The EIR will also analyze a ‘no project” alternative as required pursuant to state law, and other alternatives will be identified as the EIR process moves forward.
