Art Shows at City Hall

Printer-friendly version

Thanks to the efforts of Clara Johnson, former Brisbane Mayor, and Carole Nelson, former Community Development Director, the Large Conference Room at City Hall now serves not only as the main meeting location for city business, but also as an art gallery.  There have already been several artist shows, which are always accompanied with a Wednesday evening Artist Reception from 6:00pm - 8:00pm.  The Parks and Recreation Dept. is currently looking for artists interested in displaying their work in City Hall's "art gallery".  If you or someone you know is interested, please click here for more information.

Current Showcase: "Still Lives"
Portraits by Kevin Fryer

"Capturing the human spirit through a camera lens is arguably the most challenging and rewarding of photographic endeavors. For this show, I’ve merged subjects from our town of Brisbane with images captured around the world.  By pairing photos into groups of two and three a larger impact is created, one that articulates our capacity for hope and dignity, humor and regret, and a range of expression that gives insight into our better nature."  -- Kevin Fryer
